The Faulk Center for Counseling
In September, the Faulk Center for Counseling will restart “My Generation” – a discussion group for seniors and teens. This unique program, which bridges the intergenerational gap between these two populations, gives teens the opportunity to earn community service hours. This program has been very well attended and we hope it will be equally successful this year. Please see the attached flyer for details. It is also important to note that each student will receive two community service hours per attended group.
We really would appreciate your help promoting the program to your students. If you would like a representative from our staff to present My Generation to your school, we would be happy to coordinate with you. Some groups that might be particularly interested in My Generation include your AP Psychology and/or Sociology classes and NHS or debate clubs.  Please consider sharing this flyer with appropriate colleagues (teachers, club advisors) and let them know we would be delighted to speak to the teens about the program for a few minutes at the beginning of class or the club meeting.  Some schools have requested we provide a presentation on general mental health issues which is also possible.
Dr. Holly Katz, who has been the Clinical and Training Director at the Faulk Center for Counseling for the past 15 years, created My Generation. With over 20 years in the mental health field, she oversees all of the clinical services at the Center, which includes individual, group, and family therapy for children, adults and seniors.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to hearing from you. You can reach me at 561-483-5300 EXT: 125 or c.purdy@faulkcenterforcounseling
